From miles of running, cycling and swimming to A LOT of Go Beyond Fruit Cake – the stats that count in 2024

The TV is full of Christmas adverts and we are all starting to want some figgy pudding. Yes, like it or not the festive season is almost here and the world is letting us know.

But while most people are thinking about dusting down the Christmas tree, at Go Beyond we’re putting the final touches to a rather different event.

Our incredible five-day self-sufficient run through 123-miles of Nepal’s Himalayan foothills is almost here. At the end of November, we set off for the 2024 edition of a race one competitor called a cross between MDS and UTMB: The Capital to Country Multi-Day Ultra.

This epic event will be a fitting end to what has been an unbelievable year of running, swimming and cycling.

By the time our Nepalese adventure has been completed, a total of 601.5 miles worth of swimming, biking and running will have featured across our events.

We know how much the fitness community loves a good stat – whether it’s on Strava or not! – so we thought we’d crunch some numbers that sum up Go Beyond’s 2024…

⭐ ELEVEN – We delivered 11 Go Beyond events across the year and supported three others

⭐ SEVEN – The number of events which took place in our beautiful home county of Northamptonshire, with the others being in Wendover, Oxford, Bedford and Nepal

⭐ ONE – Triathlon relay race, accompanied by one running relays race, one cyclosportive, five ultra marathons, four 5ks, three 10ks, two 15ks, two half-marathons, one three-quarter marathon and two marathons (and a partridge in a pear tree!)

⭐ 156 – The number of trophies we have given out across the year

⭐ LOTS – Sorry, we don’t have an exact figure on this, but we know everyone ate A LOT of Go Beyond Fruit Cake in 2024!

If you enjoyed the 2024 running season, we’ll be back on Saturday, January 4 when our Country to Capital Ultra returns.

The 43-mile race that means the ultra season has started takes place between Wendover and Little Venice in London – we hope to see you there.

And remember, if you are hoping to take on our ultra marathon Grand Slam in 2025, Country to Capital is the first step on a path that will take in the Rose of the Shires, Thames Trail and Shires & Spires events.

We hope you enjoyed spending 2024 with us, and can’t wait to take every footstep alongside you next year.
