If there was ever a race review that succinctly sums up our Dirt Run event, this might just be it.
Of course, there is so much more to this exciting event at Irchester Country Park, the second round of which is set to return on Sunday, February 18.
The Dirt Run is one of our favourite races. In many ways, it is what we believe running events should be all about : local, loads of fun, relaxed and open to all.
Made famous as The Wellingborough Multi-Terrain Series (for those with longer memories!), the race comes with a choice of three distances – 5k, 10k or 15k (or one, two or three laps of the picturesque park).
The eco-friendly event comes with a unique wooden medal, with the ribbon colour donating the distance each runner completes.
“Great event, very well organised, friendly helpful staff” – Sarah B
“The race was well signed and the volunteers were very encouraging” – Leanne F
“Really well organised, great communication… friendly, encouraging marshals [and] a great atmosphere” – Mollie L
“A great course and challenging, a lovely big hill” – Aaron
“Very well organised and very friendly staff and marshals. Suitably muddy!” – Darren B
And we have two more bits of really good news. Firstly, there are still spaces available for round two of the Dirt Run, which takes place at 10am on Sunday, February 18.
Secondly, you don’t need to have run in round one to compete in round two. It’s an entirely separate event – although there is extra kudos available if you do both rounds!
