Christmas is coming… time to book yourself in for Country to Capital

Certain shops, to the chagrin of many commentators, are starting to put decorations on sale.

Christmas decorations. On sale. In early September.

Probably, if we’re honest, since mid-August.

It’s a move bound to court controversy, but the world we live in dictates it.

So, not wishing to clash with convention, it only seems right that we start talking about our future races.

And not Xmas ones… but our New Year ultra curtain raiser, the Country to Capital Ultra.

This is a race which always proves popular, courting an international field with some of the best runners in Britain and beyond racing the 43-mile course.

It’s also the starting point for those brave souls looking to take on our Grand Slam of four ultra marathons in a year over 180 gruelling, but rewarding, miles.

Country to Capital takes you through the Buckinghamshire countryside, crossing the M25 – by bridge of course! – and heading towards the well-heeled surroundings of Denham.
From there, runners pick up the Grand Union Canal towpath for the final run into London.

The finish is near the Little Venice canal basin, a surprisingly tranquil setting in the heart of the capital and close to both Paddington and Royal Oak Tube stations.

The race concludes at The Stowe Centre, where you can enjoy showers, toilets and a large hall to relax in after finishing.

Fully tracked and interactive, Country to Capital is historically a sell-out event, so be sure to get your entry in early.

Maybe even as early as September 😉
