Beat The Sunset – and then sign-up to our ‘amazing’ flagship event

Are you ready to Beat The Sunset?

One of our favourite races is fast approaching – and it’s a quick one! The Beat The Sunset 5k Road Race will be taking place on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

Starting at 7pm, this is a go-all-out-race on flat, closed roads – the perfect opportunity to, erm.. beat the sunset (and potentially collect a PB)!

We took this ever-popular race over from our friends at Desborough Races last year and it’s a fantastic addition to our wide-range of events.

Entrants meet at Targetcraft Archery at West Lodge Rural Centre in Desborough for what is one of those rare runs where event directors are unusually kind to runners. Why? Because it finishes with a fast 700m downhill section!

With free parking and toilets available, and entry costing as little as £15 it’s no wonder this is one of Northamptonshire’s favourite events.

And while we’re talking about Northants’ closed road races, it would be remiss of me not to mention that entries for our flagship Amazing Northampton Run half-marathon are well and truly open.

We were so proud of how last year’s inaugural event went, but the aim is to make it even bigger and better this time around.

With Northampton criminally still lacking city-status, this is a chance for runners to sample everything that Britain’s largest town (teyn?!) has to offer. The Amazing Northampton Run takes people on a grand tour of the town, with the 13.1 miles taking in a host of historic sites, the iconic Carlsberg factory in what is its 50th year in Northampton, our three sporting stadia, amazing architecture, and the ever-divisive ‘Rocky Steps’ – if you know, you know!

The Amazing Northampton Run takes place on September 15, 2024, and also offers runners the chance to sign-up for our half-marathon relay (teams of three) or three-miler event.

We also cater for and promote a host of charity partners. If you want to learn more about how you can get involved and make some vital funds for your charity, then click here.
